My Community Little Book
Help children develop a sense of belonging
My Community Little Book is easy foray into early geography skills, while helping little ones develop a sense of place and belonging. Each page explores a familiar place in the community and the people in them. It encourages caregivers to help children explore their own community, building opportunities for bonding and building resiliency. Knowing the people and places around them and their place in it give children a “sense of place.” This leads to a sense of belonging, helps their overall development, and can be their first geography skills.
Each page is illustrated and puts the child in the center of an activity at the library, post office, bus stop, health clinic, and more. The illustrations closely match those used in School is Fun Little Book. These two books help toddlers explore about the world around them, and can help prepare them to succeed in preschool. © 2019
My Community Little Book is part of the Little Book series. This popular series of children’s books encourages reading aloud while teaching the whole family healthy habits. Photos of children and engaging artwork appeal to toddlers. Lighthearted text, often in catchy rhymes, reinforces key health and child development messages to children and parents. Because children’s books get read over and over, the health messages stay front and center in the family. Agencies nationwide use these books to enhance their family engagement, parent education, reading promotion and nutrition education.
Little Books are printed on sturdy card stock, measure 5½ x 5½” and have 16 pages.
